Where do the funds go?

Your donations to the Spinal Cord Society NZ are used for-

• Clinical Trials:

  • The funds that go to the clinical trial will be used to pay for the surgery, physiotherapy and all of the testing costs.

• Laboratory Research:

  • The funds used to support our research laboratory pay for equipment and materials. They also pay the salary of our full time research scientist, other scientists who assist in the research and our office staff.

• Diabetes-SCSNZ joint research project:

  • The funds are used to support the laboratory work and planned clinical trials to develop new treatments to cure Type 1 diabetes.

Donate and make a difference to the lives of thousands of people in NZ with spinal cord injuries or help with the joint Diabetes-SCSNZ research work to cure Type 1 Diabetes.

If you wish to help the diabetes research, make a donation using one of the methods below and then send an email or letter to tell us your donation is for diabetes research.

There are a number of ways that you can support Spinal Cord Society NZ or Diabetes research:

• Make an on-going donation – and be a Core Donor.
  • $5, $10, or more each month will be fantastic support.
    • email us for information at enquiries@scsnz.org.nz and use your bank's online banking system to start the donations. 
• Or make a one-off donation through your Bank's online banking system.
  • We are registered for bill payments with -
    • Westpac, ASB, BNZ, ANZ, National, TSB, Kiwibank and HSBC.
  • Please enter Spinal Cord Society NZ in the list of billers/organizations to which the payment is to be made and just follow your Bank’s instructions.
• For a Credit Card donation - use the donation form on this page. 
• Or send a one-off donation of $20.00 through our 0900 number – 0900 SPINE (0900 77463).
• Or mail a cheque to the Spinal Cord Society NZ, 428 Hinuera Road, RD 2, Matamata 3472.
• Ask the IRD to send your annual tax rebate for donations given in the previous year, to SCSNZ.  Contact us at enquiries@scsnz.org.nz for details.
• If you would like information in leaving a bequest or other donation, please contact us at enquiries@scsnz.org.nz.

Refund/Cancellation Policy

Please ensure that you are in a position to make the donation before sending your payment.

All online donations are processed by DPS (a leading provider of Internet transaction processing in New Zealand and Australia). All payments go through a secure network and you will receive immediate confirmation when the transaction has been processed successfully.

All donations are made in NZ dollars.

We will send a receipt for donations of NZ$5 or more made to the Spinal Cord Society NZ.

The Spinal Cord Society NZ is a tax exempt charity and all donations are eligible for tax rebate in New Zealand.

Refunds of donations will be made at the discretion of Spinal Cord Society NZ. Please email us at enquiries@scsnz.org.nz.

Cancellations of donations will also be made at the discretion of the Spinal Cord Society NZ. Please email us at enquiries@scsnz.org.nz
